Located in Camden Haven, just south of Port Macquarie, Bonnie Doon enjoys one of the most temperate climates in Australia.  The area boasts spectacular coastal scenery with beaches that stretch for miles, as well as offering Canopus Deep Sea Charter Fishing and whale watching opportunities.  Koalas are often seen in the trees around Bonnie Doon and you will always hear the sounds of Kookaburras, Black Cockatoos and Rainbow Lorikeets as they fly through the area.  The charming hinterland is home to award winning winery Cassegrain, Timbertown Heritage Village, Ricardoes award winning tomatoes and strawberries, Lorne Valley Macadamia Nut Farm and Kew Country Club which has an 18 hole golf course if your are feeling sporty.  Five minutes drive from Bonnie Doon, you will find the Dunbogan Boat Shed where you can enjoy premium locally grown coffee and treats, feed the fish or hire a boat and go fishing on the river.  A little further down the road, you will reach the Plaza Theatre in Laurieton – the best art deco picture theatre on the coast – which shows all the lastest releases.   Laurieton also hosts the Riverwalk Markets on the 3rd Sunday of every month and these are always popular with visitors and locals alike.

How to get there/check in arrangements

Bonnie Doon is less than 4 hours drive north of Sydney.  There are numerous direct flights daily to Port Macquarie from Sydney that take approximately 1 hour and there are also direct flights from Brisbane which take 1 hour and 20 minutes.  All of the major car rental companies (Avis, Hertz and Budget) have representatives in Port Macquarie and the drive to Bonnie Doon from the airport takes about 40 minutes.  Keys for Bonnie Doon are available from our local agent who will handle all check-in arrangements for your stay.
